Cynthia Quinones Velez – Secretary
Cynthia Quinones Velez is the mother of three children, who were good friends of Daniel, and the four kids would often play together in the neighborhood. It wasn’t until Daniel’s diagnosis did she become closer to Daniel’s mother, Theresa Beech. It would be over long runs and walks with Theresa that Cynthia would learn about the horrors of osteosarcoma
Cynthia graduated from the University of Florida in 1995, and is currently a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Transformation Fitness 4Women and at Lifetime Athletic. After Daniel’s first tumor removal surgery, she helped train him in order to regain his strength temporarily before his relapse. Cynthia and her family would witness his brave fight to survive throughout the last two years of his life. Daniel made his mark in this world and in Cynthia’s heart, and she is honored to be a founding member of this much-needed organization to support the search for new treatments for this beastly disease.
